the words I'd never say

I won't say the words
spoken so carelessly before,
just thowing them out
like pebbles on the water.
I have just been hit
harder than the last
how am i suppossed to recover?
To recover from the
smallest scratch takes
time to heal
and some scratches
won't heal at all.
Should I jump in with
open wounds and hope
the water will heal
faster than time?
The words I never
thought I'd say again
are crawling towards
the tip of my tongue
